Amelia Earhart Crossing SP Event
KC0VYS and others will be near Atchison Kansas and around the local Kansas City area hosting a Special Event commemorating the historic Atlantic Crossing of Amelia Earhart on May 20-21 of 1932. The Stateside Event will take place starting at 11:00 GMT that's 06:00 CDT on the 17th of May and run every day until Midnight of each day. The Event will end stateside on the 23rd of May at midnight local time.
Operators Wanted
We are hoping to have numerous operators filling in slots and transmitting in the General & Technician Frequencies from 6m to 80m and working Sideband, & CW, with FT-8 being optional. Our goal this year is to have operators from around the Kansas City and Atchison area who can work from their home or in the field and they will use our Club Callsign WB0SFT for calling out. If we can get enough operators to fill in Slots designating her name A M E L I A-2 then we will be offering an additional certificate for those who contact an operator from each letter during the 7 day event.
Therefore, we need at least 6-18 (3 timeslots and 6 letters) operators for each day using one of the letters. We hope to work in the 6m to 160m bands. Operators can work shifts from -- 6am till Noon. -- Noon to 6pm. -- 6pm till Midnight CDT. Each of the letters should have operators who will be working at least 2 of the modes CW and/or SSB during each day. This will give our listeners the opportunity to log either mode and be able to qualify for the All Letters Certificate.
